Ready to fight food waste? Our pubs are! Every day fresh food goes to waste across our industry – just because it hasn’t sold in time. Too Good To Go are a company who provide an app that lets you buy and collect magic bags at a fantastic price so it gets eaten instead of wasted. Genius right?! You won’t always know the exact contents of your magic bag until you pick it up, but that’s part of their surprise.
More than 1/3 of food is wasted, but with the help of Too Good To Go, 8.5 million people are finding and saving food, with over 11 million “Magic bags” rescued across our industry so far!*
Our managed houses are signed up to this initiative and we’re also pleased to announce that we’ve rolled this campaign out to our French sites!
Commenting on the new initiative Ariane, our France Manager said, “I have the pleasure to announce that we have launched Too Good To Go across W&Co France. We are now proposing magic bags with unsold food but also beer cans! It will allow new customers to discover our beloved pubs and beers and hopefully they will come back as customers to get a great experience in our pubs. More importantly it will avoid wastages which is really something that our French staff is keen to do as they love their Planet”
Andrew Furniss, Key Account Manager at Too Good To Go said, “Having worked closely with Wells & Co. to save food and drink waste in their UK estate; I’m delighted to hear they want to maximise their impact in reducing CO2e by rolling out Too Good To Go in their French estate, where I know our local users will be just as excited to rescue their delicious surplus food and drink.”
