In the lead up to International Women’s Day, which is taking place on Saturday 8th March, we will be sharing some of the stories of our fantastic female colleagues that are part of the Wells & Co. family.
Can you provide a brief overview of The Silver Cup and your role there?
I am the Food and Beverage Director. In my role, I oversee all operations relating to managing the restaurant and bar. I have a particular passion for wine and enjoy continually bringing new products onto our menus.
What do you enjoy most about working with Wells & Co?
I really like working alongside another family-owned business who are passionate about brewing their own beer. The company is also committed to sustainability which aligns with our ambitions at The Silver Cup.
One of the most important aspects is that they understand what we are trying to create here and there is a want from Wells & Co to see us succeed which we really appreciate.
What did you do before starting your journey with Wells & Co?
I have a love for all things food and drink which meant a career in hospitality was inevitable. My journey began with a focus on Event Management during university.
After completing my degree, I wanted to travel and see more of the world. Over a few years and various continents, I was able to experience all different hospitality vendors, from street food in Asia to 5* star hotels in Europe and the Middle East. Having spent a couple of years working in Australia, which is one of the leading new world culinary countries, I gained a real understanding of produce-lead restaurants in a casual dining experience. This is something I strive to create by welcoming all guests with warmth, care and guidance.
I truly believe that the key to hospitality is to make people feel at home.
What are your career goals for the next few years? What would you like to achieve?
Having spent the last few years establishing our presence in the market, the focus is now on strengthening the brand and our community presence. We are also working really hard to enhance the experience that we deliver to our customers, giving them reason to want to return.
From a personal perspective, I want to continue to learn and be inspired so that we can develop and grow the business.
The theme for International Women’s Day 2025 is Accelerate Action – can you tell me what that means to you?
To me, ‘Accelerate Action’ is about empowering women everywhere – ensuring women have the support, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive.
It is also about speeding up progress, We need to continue to raise awareness of the opportunities for women in hospitality and push for faster, more impactful change, shifting conversations to measurable action.
Ultimately, it is about encouraging everyone to participate. Gender equality isn’t just a women’s issue – it requires collective effort from all genders to create a fairer, more inclusive world.
